Net-A-Porter Partners with Vogue For Fashion’s Night Out Mobile App
NET-A-PORTER.COM, the world’s premier online luxury fashion retailer, will celebrate Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out on September 8, 2011 with an innovative new concept entitled “The Window Shop”, bridging the divide between retail and online for one night only.
Using cutting-edge image-recognition technology, shoppers will be able to buy and win from NET-A-PORTER after downloading a specially-created “The Window Shop” app that will be available for iPhone, iPad 2 and Android platforms. “The Window Shop” uses Aurasma, a radical piece of technology that brings together the physical with the virtual, which enables the app to see its surrounding environment without the need for barcodes or tags.
“The Window Shop” will be displayed on vinyl graphics in Mercer Street, New York and Mount Street, London from 6pm on the 8th of September, when the windows will be revealed. Visitors who download the app and visit the pop-up window shops can hold their mobile device in front of the wide array of covetable designer fashion and accessories, whereby the products will instantly appear on their device available to purchase, or potentially win as a prize!
Shoppers will receive their purchases or prize the next-day, delivered by NET-A-PORTER Premier drivers, so visitors to “The Window Shop” will not have to worry about carrying their items home after an evening full of partying and shopping.
