NYFW: KAUFMANFRANCO SS12 Presentation
The KAUFMANFRANCO SS 12’ collection, designed by Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco, is not only lighter in texture but more layered than last season. For the warm spring days, it’s all about storing the heavy palazzo pants and leather jackets that appeared last season and replacing them with lighter fabrics. The beautiful neutral color palette included khaki-colored earthy tones such as beige, grey, brown, black, and a touch of silver and gold.
The first few looks were all beige-colored with the exception of a double strap brown leather belt that entwined a dress or was twisted at the waist. A standout was look number 9, a beige trench coat with over-sized side pockets accessorized with a thick brown leather belt. A staple piece to have for everyday would be the pair of grey skinny leather pants that appeared in more than one look paired with over-sized sweaters and again, double strap belts.
For the awards season, there were various floor length sequined dresses but a stunning silver sequined tube dress was a stand out. And for the cocktail hour, a beautiful liquid-like asymmetrical one-shouldered knee length dress is a great option.
Overall, a neutral palette collection that had pieces for every occasion–the black tie event, the cocktail hour, the office attire, the casual Sunday outfit and even easy to pack looks for a weekend on holiday.
