On Our Luxury Blog Radar: Pursuitist

Pursuitist, a new luxury blog, crossed our radar this week.  After being in beta for awhile (with a Facebook fan page strategically placed at “http://facebook.com/luxury,” and already nearly 8,000 fans, how did we miss it?), the site officially launched just a few days ago.  Calling itself the “destination site that curates the good things in life,” Pursuitist boasts contributors that have written for Forbes, TechCrunch, New York Post, Condé Nast Traveler, Mashable and Saveur.

Pursuist

The luxury lifestyle website launched with acclaimed writers sharing their favorite travel destinations, restaurants, events, experiences and luxury brands.  Contributors sharing their favorite luxuries include Paul Carr (The Guardian, TechCrunch), Gretchen Kelly (New York Post, Frommers), Erica Swallow (Mashable, CosmoGirl.com), Carrie Coolidge (Luxist, Forbes), Shandana Durrani (Condé Nast Traveler, Glamour) and Leila Cohan-Miccio (Saveur).  International writers include Holly Boyle from London and Vilte S. Holstad from Paris.

“Pursuitist is luxury redefined. It’s about finding and sharing the good things in life. To inspire, educate and be relevant. Pursuitists are ahead of the curve and authentic,” said Christopher Parr, CEO and Publisher of Pursuitist.

From luxury fashion brands like Hermès and Alexander McQueen to luxury destinations like Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Disneyworld’s Grand Floridian, Pursuitist aims to serve its luxury-hungry audience the luxury focused content that it craves.

An inside source tells us that upcoming site features will include community reviews, luxury ranking, flash sales, Facebook integration and on-the-go recommendations via the Pursuitist iPhone app.

We have high hopes for this site.  As big as the World Wide Web is, we feel that there is a shortage of quality luxury content.  Hopefully Pursuitist will raise the bar and set a new standard for luxury blogs.
