Shopping Information: We Know WhereToGet.It

Submitted by on 08/11/2011 – 5:15 AMNo Comment | 1,820 views

Developed by the online fashion magazine, Hypeed, Wheretoget.it is ready to be your go-to source for information on fashion shops.  This new site is a fashion community and resource.  Makes sense, right? We’re always looking for fashionable information and inspiration from our friends, whether online or offline.

If it’s fashionable and you want to know where to get it, you can turn to Wheretoget.it and allow the tastemakers there to crowdsource an answer for you.

It happens to the best of us.  We find something we love and don’t know who made it or where to find it.  That’s where Wheretoget.it comes in.  Simply upload a picture of the item, including as much information as you can.  Then, through the beauty of crowdsourcing, the community of fashionistas will provide you with an answer or hopefully find something similar enough to satisfy your sartorial request.  If the community fails you, you can even try promoting your question on Facebook, Twitter or your blog.

To get the most of the community aspect of this site, you can also follow other users and answer questions.  You can earn badges, and if you’re really dedicated to answering questions, you may find yourself featured on the front page of Wheretoget.it.  The site also reports that it is setting up a reward scheme for its most active and loyal advisors.

According to Mashable, co-founder and CEO Nicolas Metzke described Wheretoget.it as the “Quora for shopping” in a #fashion140 panel last spring.  And, we agree that that’s a pretty accurate description.  If you have a fashion related quandry, this niche community is a great place to look for an answer — or at least a little fashion inspiration.
