Killer App: Ideas Take Flight Via Your iPad
We knew it would just be a matter of time before developers would figure out a way to make presentations more iPad friendly. More and more companies are figuring out ways to incorporate iPads into their boardroom and cafe meetings. So, apps like Idea Flight are essential for ensuring that digitally-savvy meetings run efficiently.
Idea Flight by Condé Nast Digital enables one person, the Pilot, to control the screens of multiple iPads, viewed by the Passengers. All you need is the app and a wireless connection via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to command the iPads and attention of your audience. Passengers will have an engaging experience on iPad alone or in tandem with a traditional whiteboard presentation. Plus, Pilots control the content before, during, and after the gathering.
You can download a free sample of the Idea Flight app, but upgrading to the fully functional version will cost you $7.99. Here’s what that investment can do for you.
As a Pilot, you can:
- Share ideas without granting permanent access to your presentation – unless you choose to.
- Email from Idea Flight to invite people to your presentation and direct them to download the Idea Flight app.
- Know your audience. View their names, titles, and photos using LinkedIn, and invite them to Connect.
- Display your presentation on an external monitor for large audiences, as well as simultaneously on up to 16 iPads.
- Guide presentations in Locked mode, and then Unlock to allow Passengers to scroll or tap to screens of particular interest or to recap the presentation.
- View a FREE presentation preinstalled in the app.
As a Passenger, you can:
- Participate in any Idea Flight presentation as a Passenger.
- View a FREE presentation preinstalled in the App.
- Sit back and enjoy the presentation in Locked mode, and scroll freely through the screens to pinpoint and review topics when Idea Flight is Unlocked.
- See photographs and charts in true colors, not the color printers settle for.
- Change the iPad orientation to suit you and the presentation.
- Know your fellow Passengers and Pilot. View their names, titles, and photos using LinkedIn, and invite them to Connect.
- Make an in-app purchase to become a Pilot and hold your own Idea Flight presentations.
We’ve played around with the Idea Flight iPad app at FMM and really like it. Download it from iTunes if you want to introduce a digital edge to your upcoming meetings.
