Color QR CodeIt’s true.  Color QR Codes have finally been created.  Who said QR Codes had to be black and white, anyway?

Tried And True
Carnaby, one of London’s leading shopping destinations for fashion and lifestyle, has noticed a positive spike in visits to its website and directly attributes the happy effect to the innovative QR Code, which carries a tracking system.  The new color QR Code has garnered more attention than the store’s previous monochrome version.

Color QR Code

The new color branded QR Code designed for Carnaby, London W1 is proving to be a huge success, having already increased the hit rate to carnaby.co.uk by 258% when launched at the beginning of May 2011.

Integrating turquoise, orange, blue, purple and pink within its data pattern, the new QR Code boldly catches the eye and is representative of the latest Carnaby marketing campaign which also uses the same colors to identify specific attractions within the Carnaby area.

  • Turquoise – Kingly Court
  • Orange – Carnaby Street
  • Blue – Food and Drink
  • Purple – Newburgh Quarter
  • Pink – Foubert’s Place, Broadwick Street and Beak Street

Created and designed by Carnaby Street based experiential communications agency Sister, the color branded QR Code can be seen on the latest copy of the Carnaby Essential Guide available from carnaby.co.uk and from all the local retail stores, cafes bars and restaurants within the Carnaby area.

The Future Of QR Codes
We imagine that color QR Codes will catch on, and we look forward to more stats to support whether or not color makes a difference in consumer engagement and actual sales.
