Experience NYC Through Harry Potter Style Photos
Everyone enjoys looking at photographs, but what if the pictures told a story through movement — kinda like in Harry Potter? Well, with the stunning collaboration of Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg, we can experience moving photographs.
The New York City photographer Jamie Beck and web designer Kevin Burg worked together to bring a new meaning to photography. They call their genius work Cinemagraphs, which are handcrafted, intricate animated gifs. Taking photography to a whole new level, the cinemagraphs take the subject of the photo but give it movement creating somewhat of a mini movie. Burg and Beck take the art of action and mold it into something more delicate and beautiful to look at. With such gentle gestures such as a women combing her hair to a man at the park reading a newspaper, each individual cinemagraph is crafted with amazing care.
Beck says, “There’s something magical about a still photograph - a captured moment in time - that can simultaneously exist outside the fraction of a second the shutter captures.”
The creative duo wanted to capture New York City at some of its most opportune moments, along with the everyday people living in the famous city. Their work is going viral on the internet as people stumble upon this modern art form. Some of their most recent works include the album From Me To You, on Beck’s blog.
Beck and Burg also create still pictures, but together they make pure magic with the addition of subtle movements. Their photography is captivating and perfect for sharing on your favorite microblogging platforms.
