Perfecting the art of home-spun, ethnic, and arts and crafts aesthetics, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler have the reputation for being one of the coolest designers in New York City since the late 90′s. As winners of  Womenswear Designers of the Year 2010, Alex & Lee work hard to maintain their reputation by finding the best collaborations from all corners of the world.

Keeping a hold of their ethnic designs and taste, the two designing phenoms knew that working with jewelry designers Alex & Lee would be a perfect match.

Alex & Lee was one of the most influential and popular accessory brands from the 60′s in San Francisco. Known for their beautifully crafted jewelry designs, Alex & Lee found their niche in the industry by making one of a kind pieces of art which would be worn as jewelry.

The intricate designs and chunky modern elements make Alex & Lee pieces nothing less than beautiful and eclectic. Many of their pieces are done by knotting of macramé with natural elements and other unique found objects, which will be seen in the Proenza Schouler Resort 2012 collection.

The jewelry brand was a perfect fit for the Proenza Schouler Resort 2012 collection because they were in a “San Francisco state of mind,” while designing and creating each piece. Coupled with Alex & Lee, Proenza Schouler works to make a collection of Folk Art inspired pieces, to feature hand-carved wood, copper, pyrite and resin to evoke a modern perspective with a rich, historical feel.

This collaborative collection will be sold to top Proenza Schouler accounts worldwide under the name “Alex & Lee for Proenza Schouler.”
