Coca-Cola’s Beautiful, Vintage-Inspired iPad App
For 125 years, Coca-Cola has connected with more people in more places than any other product the world has ever known. This app is based on a Coca-Cola book by Assouline:
Coca-Cola advertising, photography and artwork are captured in a commemorative book, published by ASSOULINE, as a reflection of the brand’s relevance in popular culture over the past 125 years. The Coca-Cola books by Assouline will be released in two editions. The trade edition version is a clothbound hardcover featuring 169 illustrations in a multilevel embossing cover and the second is an exclusive special limited edition book featuring 169 illustrations, encased in a beautiful hard bound cover with colour plates in a linen clamshell (each 1,250 copies individually numbered).

What I find interesting is that at a time when everything is going so digital, that there is such a strong embracing of vintage. Beyond just apps, there is a definite movement towards hand-written typography, photographers are also looking at the treatment of instant photography, and on television there seems to be a surge of companies running ads from 20 plus years ago.
