Who Ever Thought Lagerfeld & Ice Cream Could Go Together?
Recently, Magnum ice cream bar was introduced to the U.S. and took over the InterActiveCorp Building’s West Chelsea venue in New York City. Attending were many special guests in the fashion, film, and music industry including Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, designer Simon Spurr, and festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal. Magnum, the popular European ice cream bar was launched at this 300-person event alongside a film series directed by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Making the IAC Lobby look as delicious as possible, the design and production firm Frank Alexander NYC used Karl Lagerfeld’s mood boards and crafted a black and white lounge versatile to house the screening and cocktail reception. To go along with the beautiful decor, menus inspired by Magnum included bites from Sonnier & Castle and Cuff & Buttons. Keeping in mind the rich and dark colors of the chocolate ice cream bars, the venue was elegance and intriguing. Everything was perfectly tied together from the decor to the menus which all incorporating Magnums ice cream bars.
Cuff & Buttons created a, “specialty cocktails from Cuff & Buttons included one named “Toasted Almond Indulgence,” made of chocolate vodka, cognac, toasted almond orgeat, Angostura bitters, and orange zest; and another called the “Magnum MoMint,” made with chocolate vodka, cacao-nib-infused cognac, white cacao, white crème de menthe, lactart, Angostura orange bitters, and a sprig of mint.”
The guests’ dinner included pulled chicken with Belgian chocolate mole, queso fresco, and blue corn chips; melted Brie and vanilla-scented green apple in puff pastries; and white chocolate and black olive bark. And of course you can imagine what was for dessert, nothing better then Magnum’s own chocolate covered ice cream bar.
