TheOutnet.com, a site owned by Net-a-Porter.com, revamped and taken mobile in November of 2010, is set to launch its first edition iPhone app, StyleCred,  this week. The cool thing:  StyleCred rewards users with credit for introducing friends to the site with lucrative referral bonuses.

App Features:

  • Users can filter through the 200 plus designer brands, and view results by category.
  • Clothing and accessories  can then be used to create looks and can be shared via email, Facebook or Twitter.
  • Share looks with friends and earn a £20 credit ($30 USD) every time a friend new to The Outnet shops there for the first time.

According To WWD: The launch is part of the e-tailer’s larger digital strategy, which was precluded by a mobile site, blogger partnerships and branded editorial content. The Outnet plans to add looks curated by their own team, sharing via Tumblr, blogs and a leaderboard of the best and most shared looks on the app in the future.

AVAILABLE THURSDAY on iTunes: The app, which is free to download, will automatically  sync with The Outnet website and will be updated with the latest product arrivals every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
