MISSONI Goes On A Collaboration Binge
It appears that someone at MISSONI decided that 2011 was the year to diversify and try several more brand collaborations. From its MISSONI x Converse sneaker collection to its upcoming MISSONI for Target collab, the Italian fashion house has been busy spreading its good name and colorful designs practically everywhere.
Here is a look at some of the collaborations MISSONI is working on now. Whether you want to stroll your baby boldly in style or brighten up your bedroom with MISSONI accents, the brand definitely has you covered.
The Bugaboo + MISSONI special collection features two tailored designs. A bright block print adorns the Bugaboo Cameleon sun canopy and bassinet apron, while vibrant zigzags decorate the Bugaboo Bee sun canopy. Each collection is completed with a knitted MISSONI blanket. The luxury knitted blanket features MISSONI’s signature craftsmanship and quality. The Bugaboo + MISSONI collection will be available exclusively at Neiman Marcus starting July 2011.
Available on Havaianas.com and select Havaianas retailers and MISSONI boutiques across the country, the limited-edition MISSONI loves Havaianas collection includes two women’s sandal styles, one unisex sandal and one style of women’s espadrille. The shoes sell for $60 to $130, and come packaged in brightly colored crocheted bags.
There is also a MISSONI x Target collaboration in the works, which we should see in Target stores in mid-September. According to Racked, “The collab is a full-on lifestyle line featuring every category under the sun (womenswear, menswear, kiddie-wear, footwear and accessories, bed, bath, home, office, travel, you name it).” But, we’ll have to wait for images and more details, as Target swore the invited editors to secrecy.

I LOVE that this brand is sharing the wealth a little in the lower market pricing shops. I just wish they would move beyond their chevron, keep the amazing colors just do something else with them. I am so happy to see the stroller at least make different use of the brights. Bravo Missoni.

In terms of collaboration – who isn’t targeting more people via collaborations aimed at money-conscious buyers? Cavalli did it, Lanvin for H&M, Jimmy Choo for H&M, Target’s done it a few with high end designers too – so why not Missoni? After all, it is a business and if we can get our hands on more affordable Missoni items, I’m happy!
