Have you visited the MAC Cosmetics e-commerce site lately?  If not, you must–and I mean MUST–drop what you’re doing and head over there right now.  Well, open it up in a new tab, because we really want to talk you through the magnificence you are about to encounter.  Oh, and bring a few friends–you’ll need those, too!

Before we get to the new social shopping feature which will please the tech geek and chatty girlie girl in you, we have to talk about the Sanrio-esque “Cute Pinball” game dancing across your screen which is calling you to click on it as soon as you land on the site.

By clicking on the adorable panda animation, you’ll travel through time and space and land on the MAC Cosmetics Facebook page (What a great opportunity to “like” MAC Cosmetics. Coincidence? We think not.).  MAC created this game to entertain its fans (We secretly think they’ve been reading FMM and taking notes.), which is a great way to engage MAC consumers, leaving them with another reason to believe that MAC is one of the coolest makeup brands around.

Facebook app created by Matmi New Media Design Ltd & MAC Cosmetics:  Try your luck in the most fanciful, fun version of Pinball you could ever want! Say ‘yes!’ to MAC Cute Pinball featuring dripping lips, pirate bunnies, happy clouds and so much more in a world you’ll love. Invite your friends to a cute competition.

Okay, enough Cute Pinball.  We’ve got serious makeup business to discuss.  So, moving right along…

We must take a moment to reflect on MAC Cosmetics as a brand.  MAC just may be one of the best when it comes to keeping its finger on the trend pulse.  In recent years, the brand has created lines featuring the likes of Hello Kitty, Barbie, Tarina Tarantino, Lady Gaga & Cyndi Lauper, and the list goes on.  We’ve been in the stores soon after some of these lines launched and they were sold out in no time flat in some locations.  We use MAC Cosmetics and have girlfriends who do also, so beyond the amazing collaborations, fun and luxurious packaging, the quality is also something that many women are happy with.  As far as we can tell, MAC Cosmetics offers the entire package–tied up beautifully, of course.

WWD reports that MAC is currently working with bloggers on a new collection for us to covet.

So, now it’s time to get gabby with MAC. They recently took social shopping to a whole new level, something that excites us as much as the makeup itself.

The new Shop Together feature on the MAC Cosmetics e-commerce site is easily accessible and allows you to shop and chat with your friends.  The new application can be accessed from the bottom right corner of the site, as well as through a pink chat bubble in the social share section underneath each product.  You can invite your friends to join you on the MAC website via email, Twitter, Facebook or IM.  Once you’ve both set up screen names, you can start gabbing.

We just love everything about MAC Cosmetics’ latest moves.  The site is as gorgeous as ever, they’re tempting us to engage on their Facebook page, they’re collaborating with bloggers and they’re allowing us to bring our friends along with us as we shop on their e-commerce site.  We travel to the bathroom together, so why wouldn’t we want to bring our girl entourage with us as we shop for MAC goodies?
