J.Crew Launches TDF Prabal Gurung Collection

It seems like yesterday, but it was February 2009 when Prabal Gurung‘s first collection launched during New York Fashion Week with a presentation at The FLAG Art Foundation in Chelsea.  The American designer was born in Singapore and has dressed many wonderful ladies including Michelle Obama, Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana and Oprah Winfrey.  And now in 2011, Prabal Gurung is collaborating with J.Crew.

This collection is absolutely TDF — to die for.  We especially love the Fit To Be Tied Pant & Exploding Bow Blouse.

J.Crew and Prabal Gurung capsule collection features a spring-inspired six piece collection, in cotton and denim.  Gurung’s ladylike dresses, skirts and blouses blend seamlessly into J.Crew’s aesthetic, making this the perfect collaboration.  The great thing about these looks is that J.Crew wanted to make sure you could stick to a $500 budget and wear them for both day and evening.

Quite the fashion guru, Prabal Gurung is not a stranger to offering style advice.  For example, “What do you pair with such a bold top? Gurung tells J.Crew customers either a simple pencil skirt or cinched with an old, weathered belt and a pair of wide-leg, really worn-in jeans. “It makes such a strong statement, it needs that balance.”

Prabal Gurung has succeeded in creating a fresh, ultra ladylike collection that can be dressed up or down..  You can shop the collection at JCrew.com.
