WGSN MacnabWGSN, the leading online trend-analysis and research service, has been providing creative and business intelligence for the apparel, style, design and retail industries for 13 years.  With 150-strong editorial and design staff members, they have been noted for their significant industry experience, continually traveling the globe to deliver insight and creative inspiration, real-time retail coverage, seasonal trend analysis, consumer research, and business information.

Working to make their team even better, on May 12th in London, WGSN announced the appointment of new Chief Creative Officer, Catriona Macnab.  After previously working with The Woolmark Company, she later joined WGSN in 2004.  Macnab is a fashion and textile expert educated at Glasgow School of Art and then the Royal College of Art earning her degree in fashion textiles.  She is also an internationally sought-after keynote speaker and an advisor in many fashion education institutions, where she enjoys helping students.

Macnab states, “Over the last 7 years, I have been proud to be part of WGSN’s transformation from a well-loved publishing enterprise into an indispensable and influential creative service.  I am thrilled to lead this incredible team of skilled fashion practitioners, acclaimed journalists and talented professional designers who create such impressive, original work, day in and day out.”

WGSN also promoted Maria Janssen, who was the previous Design Director at Nike and recent Creative Director for Youth, Street and Sport at WGSN.  Janssen is now the Creative Director and will oversee WGSN’s Denimhead.com, and will be responsible for expanding the company’s leading local intelligence and inspiration team.

WGSN states, “Macnab’s appointment follows the announcement that Content Director of WGSN, Juliet Warkentin is leaving the company on May 20th to join a new venture in online retail.”
