The Rise Of West Coast Fashion Bloggers

California Girls {Bloggers} Are Undeniable!

If you ever ask me how the West Coast was won (in terms of fashion), I would not point to the influence of the entertainment industry and young Hollywood; I would point to fashion bloggers. West Coast fashion has always been difficult to define, from American Apparel to Trina Turk, Hudson Jeans to St. John and Winter Kate to Alice + Olivia – fashionable greatness is born, launched and worn here. For a long time, the darlings of New York have reigned supreme in terms of the spotlight on bloggers, but slowly brands, retailers and designers are starting to look WEST.

This season, Olsenboye, sold exclusively at JCPenney, has employed their favorite West Coast fashion bloggers to launch their Spring 2011 collection. The Olsenboye Spring 2011 blogger series, which launched on March 23, 2011, features weekly webisodes, each focusing on a different online muse as she tells her story of fashion and inspiration. The blogger partners include Lust for Life, If You Seek Style, Natalie Off Duty, Jazzi McG, and Karla’s Closet.

The final Olsenboye Spring 2011 webisode, launching April 27, 2011, will capture all of the bloggers as they spend the day at Venice Beach in their favorite Olsenboye spring styles. The first video with Olivia from Lust for Life launched exclusively with Teenvogue.com on March 23, 2011. Additional components include guest blogging on Olsenboye.com and a Bloglovin’ advertorial and video seeding program.
