Are You On The Right Path?

We’re in app lust again! Yes, the women of FMM love apps that allow us to tell you what we’re doing every minute, provide useless pretty things to look at or provide words of wisdom. Well, we’ve found a new favorite:  PATH.

Path is a more private, personalized way to interact with friends and family. The company hopes that its more private sharing and personal social networking model will cause users to form deeper, interpersonal relationships with the people they share their experiences with.

In order to establish emotional connections with the people on your path, the app feature does what Instragram does in terms of capturing photos, but it also lets you capture moments in video and assign emoticons to the things you share with your 50 closest friends and family. Like most apps, Path encourages you to have an open relationship with Facebook as well.

At Path, we’re focused on helping close friends and family deepen their relationships with each other.  At the root of happiness in relationships is shared experience. – Dave Morin, PATH

Expert Opinion, John Januzzi of Textbook:

“From a design perspective, it’s very approachable and the app is pretty seamless. The real value with Path is that you can only share with 50 people, which may seem like a limitation to some, but you have to consider everything else out there now. I will admit, I was confused when first signing up, but their video, ‘Nervous at Home,’ explained quite a bit. Essentially, Path is a catalog of your life—and more like a traditional journal than other platforms. It’s also refreshing to see a place where individuals will have the most control, at this time there don’t seem to be opportunities for brands to get involved. That leaves some concern for their revenue model, but for now we’ll just have to watch and wait. “
