Las Vegas is Simply MAGIC for 30 Style Bloggers Courtesy of Teen Vogue
For the past two years, the women of this website have attended WWDMAGIC in Las Vegas. After our first trip, we fell in love with what could be considered the opposite of New York Fashion Week. What can we say? We were seduced by tradeshow booths and seminars and lost our lust for catwalks.
We just knew that one day WWDMAGIC would open its arms to independent style bloggers and style writers everywhere. Last Friday, that day arrived.
This Febraury, WWDMAGIC is bringing up to 30 bloggers to Las Vegas in order to open up another side of the industry for emerging and established independent style bloggers and writers.
FashionablyMarketing.Me is proud to be be the leading partner of this venture with WWDMAGIC, Teen Vogue and the event’s supporting brands: French Connection, Levi’s, Jessica Simpson and Free People.
Amid more than 1,300 exhibiting companies from around the world, WWDMAGIC and Teen Vogue will feature 30 emerging and celebrity fashion bloggers who will participate in blogger panels, an informal blogger conference, trend reporting, real-time video segments, buyer chats and style-offs, creating a comprehensive showcase of trends for the target demographic.Through their coverage of the event, which will be aggregated at www.WWDMAGIC.tumblr.com, the bloggers will be competing for a host of prizes and the role of the official WWDMAGIC correspondent at the August 2011 show.
“Teen Vogue has long championed the notion of the importance of personal style,” says Sabine Feldmann, VP/Publisher of Teen Vogue. “And in this new age of social media, the individual is more in control than ever. That’s why we are thrilled to be hosting the first-ever Blogger Lounge at WWDMAGIC. It’s also the ideal platform for us to promote the launch of Fashion Click (fashion.teenvogue.com) on TeenVogue.com – a personal style blogger network that offers the best looks from our favorite blogs…all in one place.”
Throughout the WWDMAGIC show, bloggers, as well as attendees, will check-in on Whrrl, a leading geo-location service, their check-ins and “Whrrl Stories” in custom branded WWDMAGIC Fashion Society. As members of the Society, attendees will see recommendations about the hottest brands, fashions and events at the show. Bloggers and show attendees will have the chance to win prizes from leading fashion brands, as well as restaurants, hotels and entertainment properties throughout Vegas.
In addition, the style bloggers will be able to document their experiences at the show through photos and notes, and share to their networks on Facebook and Twitter. In order to participate, attendees must download the Whrrl application, which is available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices, and at m.whrrl.com for all other mobile phones.
As part of the interactive installations on the WWDMAGIC concourse, Moxsie, the community-driven online shop that crowdsources design input from its community of cool hunters, will be holding their wildly popular BuyerChat series on Twitter live from the WWDMAGIC show floor.
This series allows followers of Moxsie on Twitter to become virtual buyers by tweeting their feedback on the merchandise that Moxsie is considering adding to their stock. Interested parties can participate by following Moxsie and tweeting their feedback with the hashtag, #buyerchat.
WWDMAGIC has tapped additional partners in the music and trend realm to ensure a comprehensive experience. Attendees will be engaged in a complete 360-degree showcase of fashion, music, trends and influences on the 13-25 demographic.
