Indie Designer Successes On Sense Of Fashion
Just as our favorite indie fashion site surpasses 20,000 active users, we were delighted to read three success stories about indie designers who were part of Sense of Fashion‘s We The People pop-up in New York City last month.
Here is a brief look at the three independent fashion designers who are enjoying success thanks to their amazing talents and the supportive, fashionable community that Sense of Fashion provides:
Mica Made: Michaela Oehrlein, an indie fashion designer from Germany, participated in the recent Sense of Fashion NYC pop-up shop and consequently got an offer for her brand, Mica Made, to be carried by the NYC boutique, We The People.
Mica Made specializes in trendy clothing and accessories that would add flavor to any woman’s wardrobe. From oversized, braided scarves to embellished vests to cutout tops and skirts, you’ll find a unique selection at Mica Made.
Oehrlein states, “All styles are designed and realized by myself. Made with a lot of passion and love…”
Darios: Itai Mintz, an indie designer from Israel, was discovered on Sense of Fashion by the prestigious London store Beyond The Valley and is currently carried by them.
Darios offers modern style jewelry. Each piece is not only a work of art, but a conversation piece. Taking the concept of the trendy statement necklace to the next level, Darios carries statement-making jewelry, such as dangle earrings, chunky bangle bracelets and geometric collar necklaces.
Darios jewelry is for the woman who is not afraid to try a new trend or be the center of attention.
Dominic Louis: Dominic Louis, an American independent fashion designer, was discovered on Sense of Fashion and approached by London Fashion Week.
The Dominic Louis collection is full of edgy clothing and accessories for men and women. From a not-so-conventional button-down shirt to fringed gauntlets, the Dominic Louis label is a playground for people who want to express themselves in a daring way through fashion.
If you’re looking for something young, dark and edgy, this American made brand will surely have something to satisfy your deep, dark fashion craving.
Congratulations to these three designers for their recent accomplishments. We look forward to hearing many more of these indie fashion success stories — and seeing some great fashion, too!
Note: Sense of Fashion is a client of Fashionably Digital, our agency. We feel it is important to highlight indie designer successes here as more and more indie brands are collaborating with bigger brands and unique New York stores for 2011.
