Facebook Fashion: ‘Mark’ by Mark Zuckerberg

First, there was the resounding success of Facebook.  Then, there were all the lawsuits.  After that, there was The Social Network movie.

And now, following in the footsteps of Marc Jacobs, there’s ‘Mark’ by Mark Zuckerberg:

'Mark' by Mark Zuckerberg: T-shirt

Yes, you heard right.  But, thank goodness, the fashion line is a parody by ideas & cultures blog On & True and is not going to head for department store shelves any time soon.

Phew!  What with former YouTube founder & CEO Chad Hurley running off to start his own men’s clothing line and the Foursquare co-founders gracing GAP’s winter ads, we were a little worried that Mark Zuckerberg had decided to expand his personal brand and delve into fashion.

Don’t get us wrong.  We love fashion and technology and think that the two can combine for beautiful results.  But, Mark Zuckerberg’s love of hoodies and oversized t-shirts doesn’t exactly make him cut out to direct a fashion brand, and the ‘Mark’ by Mark Zuckerberg is a hilarious send-up of Mark’s 21st century work-at-home style — from Adidas flip-flops to elastic waist jeans.

While the fashion line may not be real, you can buy a Mark by Mark Zuckerberg t-shirt.  Try not to wear elastic waist jeans and socks & sandals with the shirt, though.  That might just be a little too real for us to handle.
