Kaboodle Ventures Deeper Into Indie Fashion
Independent fashion is big on the Internet, and for good reason. Independent fashion gives local upstarts the chance to speak to a global audience and is a celebration of creativity and ethical business tactics.
We’ve seen it with Sense of Fashion and the way they’ve integrated eCommerce, trendsetting and social networking. We’ve also seen it with Moxsie, who have marketed emerging brands with the help of food trucks. And we’re also going to see it with StyleTrek, a site that focuses on emerging luxury fashion..
Now it’s Kaboodle‘s turn to bask in the indie fashion spotlight with its All Things Indie channel.
The All Things Indie channel showcases indie fashion design, letting you browse and buy from indie retailers located in places around the world. Since Kaboodle also lets users shop from large retailers, All Things Indie lets users mix and match ensembles that are cost effective and one of a kind.
Kaboodle’s Vice President of Content and Community, Erika Lenkert, explains why the All Things Indie channel was created:
“Our shopping community has always been very supportive and enthusiastic about harder-to-find, unique products as well as the best finds from national brands. They love mixing staples from larger retailers with unusual pieces from independent designers because it helps them define their individual style. But until now, the best of indie creations have been hard to find. The channel makes the hunt for special items much easier.”
The channel also features the Etsy Inside Scoop report and Kaboodle Pop10, where community members can vote on their favorite products. The top ten items will be listed every two weeks, and users who vote will also be eligible for prizes.
Kaboodle, who gets about 16 million unique hits a month, might just make indie fashion even bigger.
