Nokia’s The Ideas Project Offers Communicative Expertise

Submitted by on 07/11/2010 – 6:57 AMNo Comment | 455 views

The Ideas Project is a Nokia sponsored website, meant to present the ideas of big and influential thinkers in communications to a wider audience.

Experts who are involved with the Ideas Project include professors from Harvard, MIT, Berkeley, UPenn and Stanford, Craig Newmark (Founder of Craigslist), Chris Anderson (Editor at Wired), Luic Le Meur (CEO at Seesmic), Reid Hoffman (Chairman and CEO of LinkedIn) and many, many more.

As fits a website that revolves around the world of communications technology, the Ideas Project is full of interactive media and features videos, articles, podcasts, Q&As and idea maps that showcase innovative thoughts and predictions.  The ideas presented cover a wide range of topics: Social media, business, technology and social change, geolocation, apps and so on.

The Ideas Project distinguishes itself from similar sites like TED by encouraging non experts to speak up and have a voice in what is intended to be a participatory project.  It is also a part of a wave of community focused websites like Intel’s My Life Scoop and American Express’ Open Forum — perhaps meant to better position these companies into the future.

You can follow the Ideas Project on Twitter.
