Fashion Site Moxsie Secures $3.7 Million
Fashion site and online apparel retailer Moxsie secures $3.7 million; creates new marketing model with Moxsie First site
Venture Beat reports that online apparel retailer Moxsie has secured $3.7 million of an expected $5.1 million in equity, according to a filing with the SEC.

The fashion site’s mission is to help shoppers discover and buy the best independent fashion designers, jewelry, shoes from around the world. Moxsie handpicks every designer that is showcased on the website.
In June, Moxsie launched Moxsie First, a members only platform. Though similar to luxury sample sale sites Gilt and RueLaLa, Moxsie First differs by allowing shoppers to pre-order indie merchandise that is not yet available in stores (Venture Beat). Moxsie last raised $1 million in funding in 2008.

Thing To Watch: The Moxsie First concept is brilliant. A member only site that allows users to preorder independent designer fashion and lifestyle accessories? Did Moxsie just dust off the tried and true members’ only, exclusivity model and breathe fresh life into it with an more sustainable, socially conscious angle? Yes!!!!!
Congrats to our friends at Moxsie and a we want you to know we agree with Gizmodo, we want the wooden iPad case, we’ll be ordering it!
