Style Advice With A Twist From WhatToWear.com

Submitted by on 06/22/2010 – 7:12 AMOne Comment | 1,077 views

Glamour magazine and Like.com have partnered up for WhatToWear.com, a style and wardrobe Q&A site that uses answers from both crowdsourced opinions and Glamour stylists.

WhatToWear.com: Style Advice from Fashion Experts and Bloggers

The Glamour stylists on board for What To Wear include celebrity stylists Nicole Chavez, Tammy Eckenswiller and Andre Austin.  What To Wear also features advice from well known fashion bloggers, including Kaitlin Isabella of Buffalo Stance, Constance Phillips of Constance-Victoria and Brooke Kao of moohoop.

This means that answer seekers get a variety of style help from fashion professionals who’ve worked with the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Mary Kate Olsen, Katy Perry and well known fashion bloggers and fashionable newcomers.

The website, and the fashion forward service it gives, is free and provides very visual answers to style questions — linking to online shops where users can buy items that will boost their wardrobe.

Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive explained the reasoning behind the website, as well as how Glamour and Like.com got together:

“Nobody understands the intersection of fashion and technology better than Like.com, and when it comes to fashion, no one gives real-life tips better than Glamour. We’re thrilled to bring the two together to help women solve their style dilemmas — large and small.”

What To Wear, then, brings together traditional print media, online media, professional stylists and novice stylists — demonstrating that technology only brings fashion together, not pulling it apart.

I absolutely love this site and have just started using it. It's a great concept and brings consumers much closer to stylists they wouldn't ordinarily have an opportunity to converse with. I look forward to seeing how it evolves!
