Hair dos: How to create a romantic cascade braided headband with curls http://t.co/VcYmMExR ^MD
In-Depth with StyleSight.com
Unable to tear myself away, I have just spent over an hour looking through 40 full pages of beautiful vintage pictures. With its blog style setup and themed groupings, the Vintage Vault is my new favorite section of Stylesight.com.
Yesterday, I would have told you my favorite section of Stylesight.com was the Speed to Market section, which categorizes the absolute must have fashion items of the moment. And the day before that, I would have told you my favorite section was The Futurist. It’s not that I’m fickle; it’s just that with each new click of each new section, fashion inspiration, knowledge, history and vision of the future are literally at my fingertips.
The premiere trend forecasting service and industry insiders’ secret weapon, Stylesight.com is one big think tank of global fashion content, carrying tools and the newest of technologies all in one spot and all at your disposal. It is useful for every fashion professional you can think of. Designers, buyers, executives, journalists, stylists and everyone in between can benefit.
When I was a designer in New York City, I used tools on Stylesight.com such as Forecast, Prints & Graphics, Market Intelligence, Speed to Market and Runway. Stylesight.com gave me the foresight to design a collection that had all the correct elements for a marketable and exciting clothing line. The site inspired my color direction, trend direction, print direction and inspiring vintage details to boot.
Now, my only regret is that their newest feature, Color Play, was around back in my designing days. I literally would have been on Stylesight all day and all night if that had been around. You can play with every pantone, create your color palates and design your collection with focus. Color Play can be useful to everyone, but it’s essential for designers.
To be on top as a stylist, I would recommend using Forecast, Futurist, Runway, Trend Watch, Vintage and Style Traveler sections to pull ideas together for how to style clients — especially when working with musicians and their branding. With an image library of over 4 million pictures to work with, play with and inspire, you can bring to the table sharp styling with a creative and cutting edge. Stylesight.com gives the market research and inspiration to help create groundbreaking ideas that are on top of the latest street trends.
But what if you’re not a designer or stylist? What if you’re a buyer? There are sections for buyers, too — encompassing men’s, women’s and children’s clothing as well as activewear, accessories and even denim. You can be on top of your business while exploring street to market trends and what’s happening in other retail shops and showrooms around the world. Stylesight has global vision. As a buyer, the more you know about your market and market trends, the better you can plan your next season of buying.
The bottom line? Stylesight does all the fashion research work for you and presents it to you in a concise and inspired manner. Not only that, but it is consistent and constantly updated. I don’t think there could be anything more exciting and actually more useful than Stylesight.com when you are working in the fashion industry.
Locally in Los Angeles, companies like Young, Fabulous & Broke, Linea Pelle, Inc., Kasil Jean, Forever 21, Chinese Laundry and FIDM all use Stylesight. Big wigs use it, too. Companies like Target, Victoria’s Secret, Sherwin Williams, and Abercrombie & Fitch all use it, too — just to name a few.
Pretty incredible, and my enthusiastic portrayal of Stylesight.com is only at the tip of the iceberg. Check it out yourself.
