New Monetization Strategies for Bloggers & Digital Publishers
MyNines.com Offers Bloggers and Digital Content Publishers New Monetization Strategies
Two weeks ago, Stephanie and I attended the Los Angeles launch party of MyNines.com. As online samples sales are all the rage with consumers looking for discounts and the new revenue model that has investors and VCs talking, we had to see what this site was about. The event was spectacular; your favorite Project Runway and Bravo Fashion TV Stars and some of LA’s best bloggers (Neko of LiveLoveLA and the girls at Racked looked gorgeous) were in attendance!
While the excitement over this site has been over the sites’s aggregate capabilities, already earned itself a credible reputation from TechCrunch as “The Kayak of Sample Sales,” FashionablyMarketing.Me is more excited over the new monetization strategies the site could offer bloggers and publishers if it’s adopted by mainstream consumers.
What Is My Nines?
MyNines streamlines the sample sale emails and memberships; the site aggregates products from various online sample sale sites and allows shoppers to find them all by location. Users can search and filter by designer, category, highest discounts, as well as deals ending soonest, most viewed items, deals under $100, and newly listed. MyNines currently aggregates from 14 different private sale sites including, celebrity sample site Billion Dollar Babes, Editor’s Closet, eBay and Wired For Wine.
How MyNines Programs Works For Bloggers
No one knows your readers better than you, so MyNines has designed FOUR levels of program participation so that bloggers can engage their audiences better.

What You Do: Wanna feature MyNines on your site? Leverage your unique taste to create a daily/weekly “look” made of MyNines products, or simply pick your favorite sales. What You Get: Kickbacks for visitors and purchases you bring to us.
#2: MyNines Style Hound
What You Do: Do your readers follow you for fashion insight? Each week, pick 5-10 of your favorite MyNines products, and they’ll create an editorial page featuring your top picks on MyNines. MyNines will also share the designed content with you to post on your own blog. Yes – someone does custom blog artwork for you!
What You Get: A customized fixed rate for each post, a featured spot on the MyNines blog and content you have the right to use on your blog.
#3: MyNines Content Curator
What You Do: Do you have a keen eye for fashion? You can write features for MyNines.com or curate our editor’s pick section.

How MyNines Programs Works For Publishers
Work with MyNines to create a private sales section within your site, and give your readers exactly what they want — amazing deals.
You Can Choose To:
- Have the MyNines design team create a custom look for your private sales section, or have MyNines work with you to create content that fits within your current branding.
- Customize the types of products you want to feature on your sale (i.e. only products over 50% off, handbags, certain brands, menswear, etc.)
- Feature your own products in the sample sale section and gain exposure to a different kind of buyer.
What’s In It For Publishers:
- Increase your CPMs and engagement levels – users spend an average of 5 minutes 24 seconds on MyNines.com.
- Access to over 1,000 items on sale each day.
- Be your readers’ “in the know” source for the best deals online.

Maybe I am missing something, but affiliate marketing and sponsored posts already exist. What is new about these monetization strategies? Nothing, I think.
Andy – This post relates to what Sample Sales are doing with their affiliate marketing. Most retail and sample sale affiliate programs are very limited and offer the retailer more benefit than the blogger. MyNines is evolving the affiliate marketing model, the same way their evolving the sample sale model.
