Shopping Website Like.com Brings A Live, Glamour Magazine Trained Stylist To Your iPhone

According to the Wall Street Journal, Like.com has partnered with Glamour magazine to bring aspiring fashionistas, and fashion victims, an iPhone app that provides real-time feedback.

The “Ask A Stylist”  app is free and provides users real answers from a Glamour Magazine-trained stylist in real time on their mobile phone.

The app is part of a strategy of bringing interactive shopping tools to the online soft goods shopping experience. A team of eight stylists trained and certified by Glamour magazine are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Users snap photos of clothes, accessories or themselves, pick a stylist and submit a question under event categories such as “Girls’ Night” or “Wedding.”

The app format is still in development, and may change once it starts being used.It remains to be seen whether consumers will prefer shorter, faster answers or more nuanced tips that may take longer to arrive. Initial feedback in the iTunes store is overwhelmingly POSITIVE.

“With the application running, all you have to do is snap a photo of your proposed outfit, choose where you’re going (dinner, the movies, the park), and ask your fashion question.  Within two minutes you’ll get a response from a Glamour Magazine trained stylist and recommendations on other items that might take your get-up to the next level.  Even if you aren’t standing in front of your closet and are instead at your favorite store trying to figure out what to buy, you can summon your stylist to aid you in your decision making.” – M.I.S.S.

FMM’s putting it to the test and we’ll give you a full report in a week!
