Oprah Announces OWN’s Line-Up With the Help of Celebrity Friends

Oprah Presents the OWN schedule with Shania Twain, will.i.am and Gayle KingIn expanding her focus on self-discovery and personal empowerment, Oprah Winfrey’s 24/7 cable network OWN (The Oprah Winfrey Network) will debut on January 11, 2011.

It will replace the Discovery Health channel and is a product of Winfrey’s almost 20 year long dream of running her own network.

Winfrey recently announced the OWN line-up of programs, mostly centered on topics concerning spirituality, health, entertainment and family.

Celebrities like Shania Twain, will.i.am, Lisa Ling and Gayle King will be featured on OWN.  OWN is particularly getting a great deal of buzz over Shania Twain’s show Why Not?, which chronicles Twain’s new leash on life after her devastating divorce.

While Winfrey won’t continue with her talk show, she will be starring in the show Oprah’s Next Chapter on OWN.  Winfrey will travel to places all around the globe and listen, learn and understand what the world has to say.

Winfrey says that her goal for OWN is to ”inspire and entertain people around issues of money, weight, health, relationships, spirit, helping people to raise their children and give back, teaching people to be all that they can be.”
