Sunday Thoughts: ProNagger.com

On Twitter,  you never know who’s following or reading you. Twitter, responsible for some of the most important relationships in my life, leads me in new directions every week. This week, it led me to a woman named Rachel Cornell (ProNagger). Rachel is a legally blind blogger, speaker and author.  She tweets about challenging limitations and converting procrastination into action.

Rachel and I share three common beliefs:

1. Don’t compare yourself to others.

Comparing yourself to others can make you feel inadequate or inferior. How do you pick the criteria for the people that you judge yourself against in your personal successes or business achievements? Is it realistic? The people that you compare yourself to are just like you – human. I firmly believe that every person is unique and there’s something that only they can do on this earth.

So what is it that you can do that no one else can?

2. Notoriety don’t always equal success.

Success isn’t defined by money or fame, it’s defined by how you’ve lived your life. Have you’ve taken risks, dared to confront fear and seek the life you’ve dreamed of? Have you achieved it? Happy or content? Then you’re successful.

If you had three wishes, what would they be? How can you make them come true?

3. Don’t edit yourself.

To many times people hold back. A person doesn’t say something for fear of being ridiculed or attempt something for fear of failing. Holding back an idea or strategy doesn’t help you. That idea could be what sets you apart from everyone else.

How can you cease to edit yourself this week? Be a little less fearful and let more of “you” come through.

Rachel’s is the midst of working on her book and building her blog, I can’t wait to see what comes from her in the next year. Great start Rachel.
