Tickle Me Tuesdays: Sweet Lapis Dresses

Submitted by on 04/08/2009 – 12:07 AM7 Comments | 6,515 views

Here’s a few facts about me: I’m 4″11 3/4, 34d-24-34, 117-122lbs — you know, CURVY. And to top it off, in the past five years, I lost 95-100 lbs. As you can guess, it’s hard for a girl like me to find clothes that fit her her to a “T”.

I have a series of stores that I buy amazing clothes, shoes and lingerie from, but they can be pricey. Given our current economic state, I’ve become a bit of a recessionista.  Hasn’t everyone? I’ve started to take a liking to Marshall’s Dept Stores. I go on a day when I know no one will be there (usually mid-week) and scour the stores for delectable deals. This weekend, I found these amazing convertible dresses from a brand called Lapis, ranging in price from $16.99 to $24.99.

Lapis dresses come in long and short, and they convert from skirts to dress by simply folding over. Some even have removable straps. I bought two black, one blue and something that I can only call multi-colored shiny hotness. The blacks are completely compatible with everything in my accessories closet and jewelry box. If you can find them, then grab them. Seems you can only buy them on their website if you own a boutique.

Note: If you’re in the Los Angeles area, the best Marshall’s are Burbank, Monrovia and West Los Angeles (off the 405 & Olympic).

ahh I am such a fan! I just went to a festival in San Jose and bought a dress. Super cute with a viscose fabric. I went online and to my surprise found that they only do wholesale. Their designs and fit are the bomb! Glad you told me…i plan to go to the festival again and score me some more:)

Wow, you sound totally connected in the fashion scene. I didn't know that much about Lapis dresses, but I'm glad you shared that information. I hope to learn more from your site.

TJ Maxx and Ross also sell them (got mine at Ross, one on sale for 9.99 and the other for 19.99…as well as Macy's…though the latter sells them for about 59.99.
