Emerging South African Fashion

In terms of countries and emerging fashion design & trends,  South Africa has caught my attention. In the past five years, South African Fashion Designers have been working to put themselves on the map with simple, concise collections that offer stunning wardrobe pieces that will appeal to private label and mass retailers.

South African Fashion Design Collections are laden with vintage inspiration along with feminine accents and ladylike cuts. But there is always a sultry, seductive quality with a superb attention to detail, in even the simplest of dresses.

My Favorite Designers: Black CoffeeAbigail Betz -vintage-inspired wedding dresses & Women’s Fashion and Diamond Face Couture – COLOR and vintage inspired 1950s glamor.

My favorite websites: African Fashion Index iFashion , and The Frock Report – Aspasia Karras offers South African fashion coverage.

And what I am impressed by is that many of them are using social media to make their presence more internationally recognized and increase their brand awareness.

Facebook: Tiaan Nagel - Abigail Betz Couture - Black Coffee.
